On Monday 18th July 2018  Billesley Primary School hosted their first ever girls football competition. The competition day was organised to create an opportunity for year 5/6 girls. As it was a world cup year it was themed accordingly.

We were very lucky to have Solihull Moors FC in partnership with us to allow us to provide a wonderful venue and also information about how the girls can get involved in football outside of school.

Five schools entered, Billesley, The Oaks, Percy Shurmer, Colmore and Brookfields. The competition was played as a league format to decide who would play for the 2 trophies. The top two teams would play in a final for the World Cup trophy, the third and fourth placed teams would play for The Plate.

Percy Shurmer and Colmore played out the World Cup final and the winners were Percy Shurmer in an excellent match.

The Plate went to penalties between The Oaks and Billesley after a 0-0 draw. The Oaks held their nerve to win the shoot-out.

We would like to thank all the schools that attended to make the afternoon a fantastic event.
