Next week, week beginning 21st May Billesley primary school are driving their own campaign to try and encourage our families and staff to be more active when travelling to and from school.
Next week is national “walk to school week” https://www.awarenessdays.com/awareness-days-calendar/walk-to-school-week-2018/. We are working alongside this national week by driving our own week, Step, Scoot or Pedal. We want as many people travelling into and from school on foot, on a scooter, skateboard, a bike etc.
Being active is so important for our staff, children and families. Child obesity is still rising and the journey to school is still one part of the day that can provide some physical activity. It can also increase road safety and awareness, plus self confidence.
There are prizes on offer during the week with a big draw to finish.
We hope as many families and staff as possible will support and take part in next week. Its a chance to try something new, ride a new bike, break your morning routine, make new habits, become more active, improve your health.
